Emerging Leaders Can Hack (ELCanHack) was collaboratively launched in 2022 by SiberX and Emerging Leaders in Canadian Security.

Our purpose is to enable students, new graduates, and newcomers to the cybersecurity field to learn transferable skills and demonstrate knowledge to an executive audience for maximum networking value.

ELCanHack CWC ‘24 is divided into two streams: incident response and cyber threat intelligence.

Weekly educational sessions held for all participants to learn soft and technical skills needed for success in the hackathon and field at large. All finalists will be invited to a 1-1 coaching session from a member of our esteemed advisory board. Participants will have access to real industry tools used for incident response and cyber threat intelligence.

Two finalists will be selected from each stream, and invited to present their findings at siberX’s Canadian Women in Cybersecurity  Conference 2024, in-person on May 14. All participants will receive a free access pass to the conference.

Through this opportunity, potential employers are given the opportunity to see young practitioners in action, and in return, new talent can gain valuable education and insight, showcase their skills in front of potential employers, develop meaningful mentorship opportunities, and get a headstart on networking to advance their career. An advisory board is built for each competition, composed of Canadian cybersecurity executives to guide and advise participants on success.
