- Overview
ELCanHack is a beginner-friendly hackathon designed for aspiring cybersecurity professionals—no prior experience or education required! The competition features two specialized tracks: Incident Response and Cyber Threat Intelligence.
Held virtually over five weeks, participants will have the opportunity to build essential technical and soft skills for a successful cybersecurity career. You'll work hands-on with industry-standard tools used for incident response and cyber threat intelligence, gaining valuable, real-world experience.
This is a great opportunity for students and professionals who are new to the field and looking to grow their cybersecurity or intelligence expertise. Participants will receive training on key platforms, including vendor tools that will be available throughout the challenge.
Finalists will receive one-on-one mentorship with a member of the ELCanHack advisory board to prepare for an in-person final presentation at a prominent cybersecurity conference. All finalists will also receive a complimentary overnight stay in Toronto to present their findings at key industry events like SiberX Canadian Women in Cybersecurity Conference, an event highlighting the achievements and innovations of diverse cybersecurity leaders across Canada.
Winners will be awarded a custom trophy, exclusive apparel, and complimentary access to future siberX events (for eligible events).
